The Festival Internacional de Música de Cámara “Fundación MonteLeón” promotes young Spanish and international talented chamber musicians. It also aims to foster awareness and enjoyment of chamber music’s remarkable repertoire of all periods.
Since its debut in 2010, sponsored by the Fundación MonteLeón based in León, Spain, it has maintained an important projection on the international scene and is a reference for its high level of artistic performance by its young participants. Many of them have won important prizes in prestigious international contests and already commenced an impressive career. So far more than 50 young ensembles of all nationalities have performed in its concerts. Each year the Festival presents a “special guest”, an ensemble of international renown, which will be an inspiration and model for others to follow.
The Festival concerts are professionally recorded in audio and video and are later edited and published in a special festival edition set which contains CDs of all the concerts as well as a DVD with video extracts, an interview with the guest ensemble and a behind-the-scenes documentary. As from December 2016 the Festival offers streamed excerpts.
